Christian Science has been my only religion and physician. Because I have received so much help and inspiration from reading the testimonies in the periodicals, I too would like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder. I have been healed of a nervous breakdown, stomach upsets, sore throats, colds, warts, and toothaches through the help of loving practitioners.

The admonition, "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace" (Job 22:21), was of special help to me during a trying experience when I was very much confused and disturbed as to my rightful place in business and home. I found that it was not necessary to change jobs or move to a different apartment to obtain peace, a right sense of home, and companionship. I found too that peace is a spiritual quality within one's own consciousness and that what I needed always was to study and learn ever more of the Christ, Truth.

Another healing for which I am very grateful was accomplished when a practitioner called my attention to the passage in "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (pp. 183, 184), "The material senses would make man, that the Scriptures declare reflects his Maker, the very opposite of that Maker, by claiming that God is Spirit, while man is matter; that God is good, but man is evil; that Deity is deathless, but man dies." I was then quickly awakened to the reality that because I was God's reflection I could not be sick; and because Spirit is substance, a substanceless false belief called a wisdom tooth could not cause my throat to swell or close my jaw so that I could not open my mouth sufficiently to take solid food. I was then able to eat a meal for the first time in over a week, and complete healing followed.
