Medical nurse witnesses healing and accepts Science

I was a medically trained nurse. One day I received a hospital call, and on reporting for duty I was told that five physicians had given up the case. The orders read, "Make patient comfortable as possible." Within a few hours a decided change for the better had taken place, and there was a constant improvement thereafter. I kept thanking God, even though I did not know how He worked. I did not know until two weeks later that this patient had turned to Christian Science and that the improvement had come from this help.

My materia medica training was the result of my desire to serve mankind, and through this desire I had been brought to the very threshold of Christian Science. Here I had been witnessing its holy mission before I knew what it was.

I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and found that it was what I had been looking for all my life. I purchased a Bible and Science and Health for myself. After a few days of reading and studying I saw clearly that God is the only physician and Mind the only medicine. I burned all my medical books, and from that time to this, over twenty-five years, I have never regretted my positive stand for Truth.
