No accumulated past to block man's constant, inevitable progress
"ACT IN THE LIVING PRESENT"
Many problems of individuals and of the world seem to arise from events of the past. Men believe that sickness, sin, lack, unhappiness, have originated in some past material circumstance, and their acceptance of a material history tends to prolong these evils.
Christian Science breaks these bonds of mortal history by showing us that, as the Bible declares, man is the image and likeness of God, infinite and eternal good. As the spiritual idea of infinite Mind, man has eternal life, and always has been and always will be the eternal expression of good. Then good alone is permanent, and evil has no presence or reality.
To wipe out the belief of an evil past, it is necessary for us to know the present fact with regard to each problem. Whatever claim evil presents, it is unreal right now because it is not of God. God could not be conscious of it because He knows only His own infinite goodness, and man has no mind separate from the Mind which is God.
