Children's diseases overcome quickly
All the good that is mine I owe to Christian Science. I am grateful to the sister who brought this Science into our home. When I was a young girl, I was permanently healed of inflammatory rheumatism and its supposed effects.
I am grateful for a harmonious home and for the privilege our children have had of attending the Christian Science Sunday School since they were babies. So-called children's diseases were of short duration: scarlet fever was overcome in three days and a bad case of measles in a very short time. When our son was fourteen years of age, he fell and injured his knee. It became infected, and for a few days the condition was alarming. We clung to the truth as taught in Christian Science, and with the help of a practitioner the condition cleared up so quickly that it seemed wonderful to us. While in high school our daughter fell down a flight of stairs and hurt her back. The pain was so severe she could hardly move, but again the practitioner helped us to realize that the real man has never fallen, and in five days she was completely free. Those five days gave our daughter an opportunity to better acquaint herself with some of Mrs. Eddy's writings other than Science and Health.
The Christian Science literature is ever a source of inspiration to me. Recently all the articles on home have been greatly appreciated. The building in which we had lived for about six years was sold, and we were given notice to move. We did what we could to find another apartment, but after several months the search seemed hopeless. Real estate people told us they were in a position to know that it was almost useless to look for a place. My husband became discouraged, but I knew Science had never failed us and would not then. I knew I had to have a firm faith in God's ability to care for His children.
