More than forty years ago I was instantaneously and permanently healed through Christian Science of intense pain which had troubled me periodically for several years and for which doctors could do nothing to help me. Since that time my family and I have experienced many healings, including those of abscesses, a nervous breakdown, shingles, palpitation of the heart, a great sense of fear, influenza, bronchitis, and acute indigestion. I had bronchial trouble for years every winter and sometimes would be in bed for a week or more, but with Christian Science treatment this disease was entirely overcome.

My husband and our son have been helped with financial problems, and positions have been secured through the work of a practitioner. I was beautifully sustained by Science during the last World War when our son was in the European area. Many nights I would awaken with a sense of fear for his safety, and these words from Mrs. Eddy's poem entitled "The Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4) would come to me:
