"GOD GAVE US A LOVELY DAY"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

"God gave us a lovely day, and error can't take it away," firmly declared eleven-year-old Debbie. She and her family were driving toward Capetown, Union of South Africa, on the way to Table Mountain, the famous flattopped landmark overlooking the city of Capetown and Table Bay.

Everyone in the car could see the thick cloud which almost covered the mountain. They could not help feeling downcast, for this was the only day during the family's short stay in the Cape Province that could be set aside for the mountain trip. Debbie knew that no one was allowed to go to the top of the mountain unless it was clear of clouds, but she was the first to master and reverse a sense of disappointment.

"You're quite right, Debbie," said her mother. "God gave us a lovely day in which we can enjoy the blessings of His love, no matter what the weather may be. We'll find it to be a lovely day if we refuse to give in to disappointment and instead make sure we know that God gives us only what it is right for us to have."
