EXPANSION

Many are the lessons of the expansion of good that may be learned from the Scriptures. The seed within itself, the leaven expanding the loaf, the growth of the mustard seed, the glory and honor of nations entering the city of light, immortal consciousness—all point to the vitality of good, the power embodied in all that proceeds from God to express the infinite nature of its divine Principle.

Christian Science reveals God as indivisible good, and he who glimpses the divine origin and universal unity of genuine good inevitably expands his usefulness in its service. His expression of whatever is right and true multiplies endlessly, for the understanding of God as One and All breaks down the illusive limitations of the carnal mind, which would oppose Love's infinitude and the freedom of man, Love's likeness.

In "Pulpit and Press" (p. 4) Mary Baker Eddy explains the universality of the individual reflection of this infinite One, this source of man, and points to the reward of demonstrating our unity with our divine source. She says, "Who lives in good, lives also in God,—lives in all Life, through all space." She adds: "His existence is deathless, forever unfolding its eternal Principle. Wait patiently on illimitable Love, the lord and giver of Life. Reflect this Life, and with it cometh the full power of being."
