LOVE'S ENCIRCLEMENT

"God is at once the centre and circumference of being." This dynamic statement on pages 203 and 204 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is replete with healing power. It implies the allness and everywhereness of Deity. It is tantamount to saying that God is the innermost and outermost, that there is none beside Him—no other presence, power, substance, or Life.

These great truths would, however, be of little value to us without a correct understanding of the nature of God's infinite, all-inclusive presence and of the scientific relationship existing between God and man, His image and likeness. Let us then consider the seven synonyms for God as given by our Leader, which impart to human consciousness a broad and practical understanding of the Supreme Being.

Mrs. Eddy tells us that God is Life, Truth, Love, Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit. The allness of God therefore implies the allness, or everywhereness, of Love, Spirit, Truth, and so on. And because of man's inseparable relationship to God as His beloved son, or manifestation, he is forever in the presence of infinite Life and Love, the divine Principle of his being. He cannot stray outside this infinitude of good for a single instant, since God is the center and circumference of his being. What a wonderful realization this is, and how liberating its effect!
