During the fifteen years I have been studying Christian Science, it has been a wonderful comfort and protection.

Our first son was born in Bangkok, Siam, in 1939, and our second son a year and a half later. During the war we were interned for eight months by the enemy, at which time I turned to the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, for help and encouragement. Eventually we were sent to England on a diplomatic exchange; then we went to the Argentine, Spain, Portugal, and France. I shall always be grateful for the wonderful help of a Christian Science practitioner when our twin daughters were born in Portugal.

During all our travels, and traveling with small children in wartime was not easy, we found that by turning to Truth all our needs were met. We were able to find accommodations when there seemed to be none; we always had an abundance of food, which we were able to share with others; and when the children had various maladies, they were healed quickly and suffered no aftereffects.
