When the main interest in life becomes the gaining of more possessions or the enjoyment of more pleasures, loss of faith in immortality is a natural conclusion. There is nothing intrinsically immortal in that kind of life.

The key to the recovery of Christian faith in immortality lies not in the realm of scientific discovery, nor in the sphere of speculative philosophy. It is to be found rather through Christian conduct, through living a life which is worthy of being eternal, a life inspired by faith in and fellowship with Jesus Christ. ...
