"FATHER, I THANK THEE"

The gratitude and thanksgiving expressed by Christ Jesus in the words (John 11:41, 42), "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always," brought comfort and healing to a young mother.

For several days her son, a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School, had been very ill. It became necessary to make several adjustments in the household, and his sister, age seven, also a pupil in the Sunday School, had to share her mother's room.

During the night their mother was awakened by a tiny voice saying, "'Father, I thank thee,'" and then again, "'Father, I thank thee' for healing Tommy." When asked why she was giving thanks, the little girl said, "My Sunday School teacher says Jesus gave thanks first because he knew God is always present, and everything that is good is here right now."
