I have received so many wonderful blessings through Christian Science that I feel it is time I wrote my testimony.

As a child I had a great faith in God as my Father, but subsequent theological teaching tended to hide the God I had loved as a child, and I went inquiring into all sorts of religious beliefs, trying to find answers to my questions. Not until I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy did I find the satisfying truth that I had been seeking and have the many questions answered. Since then I have seen many healings through Christian Science, healings that have taken place after the doctors had given up all hope of the patient's recovery. In my immediate family a woman of eighty-three recovered through Christian Science treatment after the doctor and nurses said mortification had set in. At one time my mother was taken very ill, and two doctors said it was impossible for her to recover. She was in a state of coma, but I knew that God is man's Life, the only Life there is, and that Life is ever present and joyous. Within a half-hour she was taking nourishment, and she was soon up and about again.

During the war years the truth as taught in Christian Science was a bulwark of strength to me, a light that was daily present, helping and healing in the manifold duties of running a big household, of driving an A.R.P. ambulance, and of assisting in the many activities of a branch church of the Christian Science organization. Physical tiredness was overcome again and again through obedience to Mrs. Eddy's command (Science and Health, p. 393): "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government. Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation."
