WAKE FROM SELF-PITY
Self-pity
corrodes
And eats at the heart
Until a man knows not
The spirit that's moving within him.
He becomes a stranger unto his own self
And to all those that love him.
When waked from the dream of self-pity,
Of a selfhood apart
From infinite Mind,
Like Paul, with spirit renewed,
Mankind is always expressing
The wonderful joy of salvation.
