From the age of two I had the privilege of being raised in Christian Science, and now I am raising our two girls in Science. When our oldest girl was three years old she fell over the porch railing from the second floor onto the sidewalk below. Before I could get to her, the woman downstairs had picked her up and was screaming so loudly that I allowed fear to creep in and let myself and the child be rushed to the hospital. A Christian Science practitioner was then called and lovingly took up the work. When we arrived at the hospital the authorities said that if our daughter went home at all she would not go home for at least three weeks, because she had a badly fractured skull. After X rays were taken several doctors declared it was a miracle that she was still alive. I am grateful for the fact that she herself, as young as she was, would not allow them to touch her in any way. We entered the hospital at five o'clock on Tuesday and were all home together the following Friday morning. She was completely healed. For the unselfish and loving help of the practitioner I shall never cease to be grateful.
I am grateful also for the overcoming of grief and loneliness when my mother passed on. At times I could hardly sit in church without having to leave, for we had always been together and I missed her so much. Then again the practitioner was lovingly standing by and helping me to see the nothingness of death.
As time goes on I am thankful to see the wonderful change in our family. We are all becoming more spiritually-minded and look to God for our every need. It is wonderful to have a Sunday School which starts our children off in life with the truth that they can use for little problems. We have had many healings, such as those of rheumatism, sore throats, mumps, hives, and colds.
