THE MASTER

Great was the Master's gentleness;
And yet no weakness preyed upon his mind.
He spake as never yet man spake;
His word brought healing swiftly to mankind.

He had no arrogance or pride,
Although he walked the earth with kingly tread,
But children lingered at his side
And heard the words of blessing that he said.

His thought embraced no fear or hate,
But love and meekness governed all his ways.
He knew the truth that makes men free,
And practiced truth, while giving God the praise.
