GOD IS EVER PRESENT

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Teddy had just been promoted to the second grade. The children in this class were beginning a new subject—spelling. Until now, none of the subjects had seemed very hard to Teddy, but spelling did. Every evening he studied the words for the following day, and each morning his mother heard him spell them before he left for school. He would spell each word correctly, but when the spelling period arrived he became afraid and, try as he would, he could not spell the words properly.

One morning the teacher told them that the next day the class would have a spelling test covering all the words they had studied that semester. The grade each one received would help determine his final mark. So Teddy studied very hard that night and was sure that he knew how to spell all the words.

A few days later a very unhappy little boy took his report card home. His spelling paper had been so poor that the teacher had been obliged to give him an "F" in spelling, indicating failure.
