On Leaving Sunday School
In
tents full twenty years did dwell
The growing youth of Israel.
Then went they forth to take their place
Among the warriors of the race.
In such a manner we, as they,
In Sunday school prepare today.
To larger tasks in wider spheres
We too go forth at twenty years.
That which we learnt within the tent
Was from the Father-Mother sent,
The Word of God to us made plain
Through one who heard the heavenly strain.
Her holy vision we may spread,
If in the Master's steps we tread.
More than all else, our work must be
To prove the truth that makes men free.
