It is with sincere gratitude that I write this testimony. Christian Science has healed me of many difficulties, such as the tobacco habit, bad temper, and frequent colds. Some of these healings were almost instantaneous and some were slow. My first healing took place twenty-two years ago. Two of my sisters had passed on from consumption of the lungs, and it was believed by many that the remaining eight children in our family were susceptible to this disease, for it was supposed to be inherited from my grandfather. Not knowing any better, I was not surprised when I seemed to manifest the symptoms, but I was very discouraged.

I tried to hide my trouble from the rest of my family, but I must have been led to confide in one of my sisters who had always been very close to me. She was interested in Christian Science, but this did not mean anything to me at that time. She told me that she and some of our other sisters had had the same experience that I was having, but that after being given Christian Science treatment they had been healed. She asked me if I did not want to have this kind of treatment. I had seen and heard so much about the dreaded disease that I had no faith in material remedies to heal it, so I gladly turned to Christian Science and was healed in only one or two treatments.

This healing inspired me to take up the study of Christian Science, which has been a great joy to me and to my family ever since. We have had many healings of different diseases and fears, and Science has been our only physician.
