Six years ago I was ill and discouraged, facing a surgical operation because of a tumor and injuries from childbirth, when I was led by the "still small voice" to take up the study of Christian Science, which I did. I did not know that it would heal; in fact I knew nothing about this religion. By the time I had read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, however, I was completely healed.

Our beloved Leader's statement on page 140 of our textbook, "The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death," so illumined my thought that I knew I could not be in bondage to something which God had not made. And since He made only good, as His beloved child I could have only the substance of good. I am unspeakably grateful for this and other healings, namely of food poisoning and lead poisoning. Also I am grateful that through the study and application of Christian Science I have been enabled to overcome some unlovely traits of disposition.

Class instruction, membership in both The Mother Church and a local branch church, and the privilege of serving in the activities of the latter are constant sources of blessing and joy to me. I am also grateful for our periodicals; they furnish "grist to the mill" of thought.
