It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science.

Ours was a very unhappy home of deep misunderstandings when Christian Science came to us eighteen years ago. I knew few well days, and the doctor who was caring for me insisted on a third major operation, which I refused to undergo.

It was through the instantaneous healing of an injury I received in an automobile accident that I began the earnest study of Christian Science. Three weeks later I cut the ends off two of my fingers in an electric planer. Christian Science help was asked for by long distance telephone after the hand had been dressed by two physicians whose opiates had failed even to dull the intense suffering. While the telephone call was being made the pain faded, and within twenty minutes I was free. After years of experience with opiates, this was such definite proof to me of the healing power of Christian Science that I was determined to gain at least some understanding of it.
