I am very grateful that Christian Science teaches the absolute supremacy of good. I was taught this also in an orthodox Sunday school in my early years, but was not told how to make the teaching practical in daily living.

I first heard of Christian Science when I was sixteen years old, through the healing of a sister who was married and living in another city. I was very much impressed, and said: "Why, of course! Why should not God heal our sickness, as well as our sins, if He is omnipotent?" I thought of this often, but did not begin the study of Christian Science until about seven years later, when I was very ill and facing a serious operation. It was then I asked for the book that had healed my sister. This book was "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

While I was reading the first chapter, on Prayer, a great light seemed to dawn upon my thought, and I shall never forget the joy, peace, and happiness which came to me in that hour. I felt as though I had been blind all my life, but now could see. My physical condition began to improve immediately, and, needless to say, I did not have the operation.
