Imperishable Union

Man's Life is God! What force can separate,
Annul, dissolve this union all divine?
No fleeting fear, disturbance, earthly fate
Can hide from view the glory which is mine.
I know a realm where thought may safe abide,
Immovable, untroubled, sinless, glad,
Where all that darkens may be cast aside,
here care and blight—aught that can make me sad—
Can find no entrance. Peace and joy and calm
Are with me ever in this land secure;
For nought there is to interpose or harm.
No hate abounds, nor covert guile can lure,
For God Himself is here, and in His sight
Man dwells at rest in cloudless heavenly light.
