As I came out of a store to...
As I came out of a store to enter a car one Christmas Eve. I tripped over a cement block covered with snow. I fell heavily on my leg and was unable to get up. I was helped back into the store, and shortly afterward I was removed to my home. Because of the severe pain in my ankle it was impossible to stand on my foot. For two days I tried to work this problem out as we are taught in Christian Science, but to no avail. When I finally got in touch with a practitioner my leg was discolored and swollen to the knee. Work was taken up for me, and I continued my earnest study of the Lesson-Sermon and the periodicals.
The owner of the building where the accident had occurred, insisted that I consult a physician, since he was insured against accident claims. About three weeks later an X ray was taken, revealing that there had been two fractures, which had healed perfectly. The insurance company's doctor then asked me who my doctor was, and I informed him that I had had only Christian Science treatment. He was very much surprised, as were my neighbors and friends, at my rapid recovery. I can truthfully say that although I used a cane to get about for a few days, not even a bandage was applied to my ankle.
I give this testimony in the hope that it may help others. I am indeed grateful to God for Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Louisa Dayton. Floral Park, New York.
