I became interested in Christian Science...
I became interested in Christian Science thirty-three years ago. I feel it is time I expressed my gratitude to God by giving this testimony.
When I took up the study of Christian Science it was not for myself but for our eldest daughter. She experienced a bad fall when she was ten months old. Nothing developed, however, until she began to walk. From that time on we went from one doctor to another. She was in a children's hospital for nine weeks, receiving scarcely any help. For a year I took her to an osteopath, who diagnosed her difficulties as hip joint disease, curvature of the spine, and an abscess in the front of the hip. She was a mere skeleton. One limb was twelve inches shorter than the other. The doctor said she was in the last stages of consumption, and told my husband that there was nothing that could help her. Christian Science healed her in less than a year. She is married and has given birth to seven children.
I will say with the Psalmist, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits," for they have been innumerable. My husband was healed of a very bad case of smallpox through Christian Science; not a scar remained. I have experienced many healings, including those of neuralgia of the heart, constipation of long standing two attacks of blood poisoning, which made it necessary for me to use crutches for three months, eczema, bad cuts and burns, sick headaches, and a stomach disorder from which I suffered intense pain. One child was healed in twenty minutes of blood poisoning resulting from a cut on the thumb.
