"Sonship and brotherhood"

Perhaps in no phase of human life is the healing power of divine law more needed or more regenerative than in the problems of human relationships.

A teacher in a high school found it necessary to reason very seriously with two students who had not been honest on a test. But the repentance which she had hoped for did not appear; instead, the students were angry and resentful toward her. Baffled and disturbed, the teacher turned to her next class. Then these thoughts illumined her consciousness: "God is the Father and Mother of us all. Therefore I have a perfect relationship with all mankind, including these two girls. My perfect brotherhood with all men has never been assailed or invaded."

A feeling of peace and healing came over her, and a flash of gratitude that she had this great truth which reveals the nature of man, to turn to, no matter what the circumstances might be, illumined her thought. She felt so comforted that she promptly forgot the whole affair.
