"Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts!" writes Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 45). And she adds, "Christ hath rolled away the stone from the door of human hope and faith, and through the revelation and demonstration of life in God, hath elevated them to possible at-one-ment with the spiritual idea of man and his divine Principle, Love."

When I first started to study Christian Science the world seemed very dark to me. We had just lost our little boy, and as far as I was concerned the sun had ceased shining. A friend recommended that I try Christian Science, and to please her I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. She was very kind, and asked me if I wanted her to work for me. I consented, but thought to myself, She can do me no good; no one can. I read the Lesson-Sermon dutifully every morning, and went to church regularly. At first I could feel no lessening of the heavy load in my heart. Then, gradually, each time I read I felt as though someone were telling me good news, and my heart started to sing, All is well; everything is all right!

From then on, things began to improve. Old ailments, including a weak heart, varicose veins, and catarrh, left me. Our two little girls were born, and, from the time the elder was three months old, Christian Science was the only healing agent they ever had. An older daughter and the younger two are good Christian Scientists. The youngest one, who is married and far away from home, has found Christian Science a help and guide when moving to new places and a strong tower in times of trouble.
