Excerpts from Letters Concerning Christian Science Wartime Activities

[From a War Prisoner in Germany]

We send our thanks to all the helpers on your Christian Science War Relief Committee and to the Christian Scientists throughout the world who subscribe to this work. In the words of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, they have shown us that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494). The Literature Distribution Committee in London still supplies us with the Christian Science Quarterly and authorized books on Christian Science.

The Christian Science group in Portugal is doing untold good in keeping us in touch with the church activity through new literature, while the churches in Switzerland send us large quantities of older literature. Isn't this a wonderful proof of the universal nature of Truth and Love as expressed by The Mother Church and its branches? It has certainly shown us that a great need is filled by the literature distribution activity of The Mother Church.
