My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science took place in 1910. From childhood I had suffered from severe headaches. I went to a physician for an examination, and he found a spot on my lung. He did all he could for me, to no avail, and finally said that I could not be healed. I became discouraged and began to read my Bible. The beautiful healings which took place as Christ Jesus proved his dominion over all discord gave me courage and a greater faith in God's ability to heal me.

A short time after I began earnestly and prayerfully to read the Bible, I found the address of a Christian Science practitioner. I did not know anything about Christian Science, but I wrote to her for help. In a short time I had a reply, assuring me of God's love for His creation, man, His image and expression, and stating that He did not make sickness, but cured every form of discord. She assured me that God is my Life, my health, my strength.

From the moment I read her letter, I knew I was healed. The lung trouble disappeared and the headaches were soon overcome. I shall never forget the joy and gratitude I felt in finding the truth. I wrote to her for Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which has been my constant companion ever since.
