Mary Baker Eddy writes in...

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 132), "Divine Love is our only physician, and never loses a case." This was proved some eight years ago. In the middle of one night I was stricken with acute appendicitis. The pain was intense; I almost lost consciousness. A dear sister, with whom I was visiting at the time, read aloud from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy the rest of the night. I was somewhat relieved so that I could move. In the morning she called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly worked for me. The pain left, and the third day I was back in Chicago at my place of business, entirely healed.

I have every reason to be grateful for Christian Science. Being one of a large family, I have witnessed wonderful healings through the application of Christian Science. Recently my ten-year-old nephew, while on roller skates, was hit by an automobile. He was knocked down, one roller skate was torn off his shoe and tossed over the car, and the license plate of the car was bent. The driver of the car wanted to take him to a doctor, but being a student in the Christian Science Sunday School the lad asked to be taken home. All the way he repeated "the scientific statement of being," as given us by Mrs. Eddy on page 468 of Science and Health. His legs were bruised and there was a large lump on his forehead. His mother immediately called a Christian Science practitioner, who worked for him. The little fellow went to bed, and the next morning all traces of the bruises and the lump were gone and he went to school as usual with no ill effects whatsoever. This incident surely was a case of God's loving protection for His child.—(Mrs.) Helen McIntyre, Peoria, Illinois.

It is with gratitude that I verify my sister's testimony of this healing, which took place in my home.
