"Be ye transformed"
Spring gently touches the dormant earth, awaking field and forest from their period of rest. Soft winds, sunshine, rain, bud, and blossom bring a happy sense of renewal. So the human heart responds to the summons of Love to be loving.
New joy, fresh hopes, desires reaching Spiritward—how the human heart responds to the voice of Love! Dark visions of fear, sorrow, and defeat fade and disappear. The sense of newness cheers and invigorates. Spring in the earth illustrates spiritual awakening in our hearts.
In his letter to the Romans, Paul said, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This points to the great awakening in the human heart when Truth and Love stir the latent desire for man's eternal heritage of good. This stirring is not seasonal, but the voice of immortality lifting thought out of the dream of life in matter. When the student of Christian Science first begins to listen to this call of God, he can know that the gentle voice of Truth will lead him onward and upward to the true goal of spiritual understanding. This is the coming into his consciousness of the Christ, which awakens thought and opens the heart to Love's coming.
