Appreciation of the many blessings...

Appreciation of the many blessings received through the study of Christian Science prompts me now to express my gratitude. All the literature established by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, is dear to me, but the Sentinel has been and always will be especially precious, because it was through some copies of the Sentinel given me by a friend of the family many years ago that I became interested in this beautiful religion. I had been a devoted member and worker in the church I had attended from childhood, but the truths expressed in Christian Science found me ready and receptive when they were presented.

I rejoice in sorrow healed and faults of character in a measure overcome; also, in physical discords cured, including chronic fatigue, colds, bone felon, growth on one eyelid, and an ugly wart. I am grateful for our hymns, replete with scientific healing truths; for class instruction; and for the opportunity of serving our Cause in various ways through our local church. The protection afforded us when abiding "under the shadow of the Almighty" through right thinking is another blessing for which I am most thankful. It is wonderful to be able to remain at peace mentally in the midst of present world conditions, knowing that Love divine takes care of each hour. Inspiration always comes when I think of the courage, fearlessness, and loving steadfastness of our Leader and the faithful pioneers of those early days. In the words of a hymn.
