I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, and during this time God has been my only physician. There have been many occasions during the years to prove the efficacy of the healing power of Christian Science.

Over three years ago I had an opportunity to prove again the power of Truth. I suddenly began to have hemorrhages of the bowels. At first I tried to overcome the difficulty myself. There was no pain connected with the hemorrhages, but after I had had a few, I began to feel weak. When my younger daughter, a high school student, came home, she asked me if I was ill, for I looked so white. I explained that error had suddenly attacked me.

My elder daughter, who worked in an office, returned shortly after six o'clock, and was greatly alarmed at my condition. She put in a long-distance telephone call to another city, to my teacher in Science, and found that she was out of town but was expected home early in the evening. At that time we were living in a hotel apartment. We were unable to get in touch with the practitioner for several hours, and during the evening one of my daughters asked a physician, a friend of the family, to come in, as she wished to talk with him about me. She explained that I did not wish medical help, but living in a public place as we did, she would be less criticized if she called for him. He was very kind, but very much puzzled over the condition. He told me that he respected my great faith in a higher power, and that he considered my mental state had much to do with my being alive.
