Sunday School Notes and Comments

A teacher in a branch church writes: "To our Sunday school equipment we have added a small bulletin board, which hangs in the hall outside the assembly room. On this is posted a list of all articles on Sunday school work which appear in The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Christian Science Monitor. The title of each article and the date of its publication are listed under such headings as Special Articles, Articles for Children, Articles for Young People, and Sunday School Notes and Comments. The articles posted cover a period of three months, including the month at hand. The teachers are thus enabled to make a quick check of their own reading on Sunday school affairs and also to refer children and young people to specific articles."

A teacher who strives to be in her class a little while before the hour for the Sunday school to open, finds that the pupils respond by being there early too.

Usually the classwork with the older pupils starts with a discussion of the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and its meaning. Then in order to apply the instruction in the Manual (Art. XX, Sect. 2), "The Sabbath School children shall be taught the Scriptures," there is a discussion of the book in the Bible from which the Golden Text is taken.
