Many eventful years have elapsed since my first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel, and I wish to express today all the gratitude which I have always felt deeply, but may not have expressed outwardly while journeying along the road of progress. There have been mistakes during this period, but the divine hand never failed to support me throughout all the stumblings, and a useful lesson has always been learned.

From my first healing on, health has always been maintained without any other help than that of Christian Science. All my human needs have always been most lovingly and generously provided for. I could not list all the instances of divine protection, but I shall cite two recent benefits received from Christian Science.

Submitted to the severe air bombing of Le Bourget in June, 1940, I was able to stay in the open at my assigned post with the clear assurance that where duty is there is security. Not only was I completely protected, but none of the men under my direct orders suffered the least injury, though heavy bombs exploded but a few feet from some of them.
