Resolving Trials into Opportunities

[Of Special Interest to Youth]

A young man, in 1917, enlisted in the Army. He had recently enjoyed the precious boon of class instruction in Christian Science, and the actualness of present spiritual experience seemed very real to him. "Why," he asked his teacher, "must I go into this war when for years I have been earnestly studying, as well as living and demonstrating Christian Science to the very best of my ability? It would seem that I should have been protected from such a difficult and trying situation."

The answer did much toward lifting the entire war experience out of the realm of trial, fear, unhappiness, disappointment into the realm of opportunity.
