I should like to relate a few of...

I should like to relate a few of the outstanding blessings we have received through the study of Christian Science.

About five years ago, when our son was six months old, I became a sufferer from inflammatory rheumatism. One day, after I had been ill about a week, I felt so tired that I gave up the fight. Then I heard my husband and my mother, who were faithfully staying with me, calling to me, but I could not answer. My mother kept repeating to me, "God is Life and that Life is my life," and urged me to say it until I could repeat the whole sentence alone, and then she said, "Live for your son's sake." From then on I kept getting better, but I had to have someone do my work.

A friend who was helping me with this trial quoted to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 571): "Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil. Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you." Several months later there was a Christian Science lecture given here, to which I went hoping to receive the rest of the healing. The lecturer said, "First we must detect the error, then reject it, and then know the nothingness of it all." This sentence kept ringing in my ears for a long time afterward, and by pondering over the meaning of it I received my complete healing, and have been well ever since, for which I am very grateful.
