Camp Welfare Activites

More than one hundred Christian Science Wartime Ministers are now engaged at United States training stations and serving combat units in some of its possessions. Besides these civilian workers regularly serving the men and women in the United States forces, about one hundred fifty volunteer Christian Science Wartime Workers are also helping to minister to the spiritual needs of Christian Scientists and others in the forces, who turn to them for the friendly encouragement and help which these workers are prepared to give.

In England five Christian Science Officiating Ministers give fulltime service to the armed forces of the United Nations there, while another Officiating Minister is similarly engaged in the Middle East, and a few women known as Authorized Christian Science Workers serve the Christian Scientists and others in the Auxiliary Territorial Services in Great Britain.

The camp welfare work in Canada is carried on by provincial Christian Science War Relief or Camp Welfare Committees and their representatives, while in Australia the State Committees function in much the same way, and in Africa the work is promoted by Committees for Camp Welfare Work.
