"Ye are the light of the world"

At this momentous period in human history, Christian Scientists everywhere feel the urge to rise to do more effective healing and redemptive work. Their ability to express the might of Mind measures their power for good, and upon men's apprehension of good the salvation of the world from its present apparent chaos and suffering depends.

"Ye are the light of the world," declared Christ Jesus to his followers in every age. He who taught man's inseparable oneness with God proved that the spiritual facts of being, received in individual consciousness, destroy materialism with its pains and limitations.

This stirring declaration comes as a call to all consecrated Christian Scientists. Having discerned the illuminating truth that man's being is spiritual and perfect, the effect of one perfect Mind, they are endeavoring to demonstrate the presence of harmony and peace wherever they may be. With their own thought enlightened as to God's all-power, and knowing that man expresses this power by reflection, they are enabled to destroy the mesmeric suggestions of evil which would beguile and enslave them. With their own thoughts free, they are helping to loose the chains of materiality which bind their brother man. With their vision clear, they dispel the false claims of hatred and woe, loneliness and pain, products of the belief that man is separate from God.
