I have long wanted to avail myself of the opportunity of expressing some of the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, hoping that my experience will help others to rely upon it.

Five years ago I had a stroke. I lost the use of my throat, and although I still had my voice, I could not even swallow a drop of water. I was quite sick for some days and nights, and had a nurse with me all the time. Even when I got better I could neither eat nor drink. It went on this way for nearly three weeks. On the seventeenth or eighteenth day I found I could swallow a little water; then, on the twentieth day, I swallowed some particles of food, and three days later the other organs of my body began to function in a natural way. All this time I had a Christian Science practitioner, to whom I owe more than I can say, and through his daily visits and work I was saved from suffering from hunger and thirst, and I felt confident that God was taking care of me every moment. I have had good health ever since, and I am more thankful every day for all that God has done for me and mine.

I have since become a member of The Mother Church and of a local church. I am thankful to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful work in giving Christian Science to the whole world; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to God for giving Mrs. Eddy strength and inspiration to do this work.
