In a recent issue you carried the report of a sermon, in which you quote the clergyman as saying that Christian Science is neither Christian nor scientific. I trust that you will grant me the privilege of your columns in printing my reply.

The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, wrote (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 126, 127): "If Christendom resists the author's application of the word Science to Christianity, or questions her use of the word Science, she will not therefore lose faith in Christianity, nor will Christianity lose its hold upon her. If God, the All-in-all, be the creator of the spiritual universe, including man, then everything entitled to a classification as truth, or Science, must be comprised in a knowledge or understanding of God, for there can be nothing beyond illimitable divinity."

Christian Science is a religion of love, founded on the Bible, and the members of the Christian Science church study the Scriptures daily. They accept as true the inspired Word of the Bible, and endeavor hourly to follow the example of our Saviour, Christ Jesus. They believe that Christianity as taught by Jesus is a demonstrable religion, of which the Principle, with its every law, is scientifically provable; in fact, that the Science of being is the only exact Science, for the truth as taught by Christ Jesus, being of Spirit, contains no element of variableness or room for error.
