To be able to testify to the healing power of Christian Science is a privilege that only those who have felt its redemptive touch can fully understand. I was so steeped in false theology and the belief of mind in matter that my first efforts to gain a spiritual viewpoint and healing were unsuccessful; that is, so far as physical evidence was concerned.

I was persuaded many times to return to material means for healing, but, each time I did so, I saw more clearly that the doctors were groping in the dark in the same way that I was. After one such visit, the thought stood out clearly in my consciousness that if I could but understand Christian Science, I should be healed, and I saw that what I most wanted was an understanding of God.

I read and attended church more or less regularly, but seemed to be unable to grasp even a little spiritual meaning. However, I did not give up. Then, while staying with a family who were interested in Christian Science, I had an instantaneous healing at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. This healing has always encouraged me when the way has seemed dark and trials have beset my way. My growth has been slow but steady.
