I wish to express gratitude for the privilege that was...

I wish to express gratitude for the privilege that was mine in attending a Christian Science Sunday School, and for the many healings that I have received through the application of Christian Science. One of these healings I wish to relate.

While working, I cut off part of my thumb with an electric saw. My first thought was filled with fear, but I immediately tried to reverse the suggestion, to know that "accidents are unknown to God" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 424), and after a while an artery, which had been cut, stopped bleeding. The practitioner who was called, lovingly began her work, and within an hour I fell asleep in a sweet sense of peace. I am indeed grateful to say that I experienced but little of the discomfort mortal mind would attack to an injury of this sort. The next day I attended a Christian Science service, and within a week and a half was back at my work, operating a machine that required the use of my fingers. The disappearance of a wart on my hand was also experienced during this period.

For this healing and many others, including the saving of our little daughter, who, at birth, was given but forty-eight hours to live, I am indeed humbly grateful.
