In a recent issue you published a letter in which Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, are referred to in a somewhat objectionable manner, and I will deem it a favor if you will have the following corrective statements published in an early issue.

It is difficult to comprehend how one versed in the laws of our land could at this enlightened period be so misinformed on Christian Science, which has become generally recognized as a well-established Christian religion, the practice of which includes the healing of physical ills by prayer. Furthermore, this practice is so broadly recognized in national, state, and municipal laws, that no one can seriously challenge the right of a citizen to depend exclusively upon this method of healing if he chooses to do so.

To conclude, as the published letter states, that Christian Science is a "nonsensical belief," one would need to put the Holy Bible in the same category, for Christian Science is wholly Scriptural. It teaches the "living" and "true God" of the Bible, using the Biblical names for Him—Spirit, Truth, Love, Life—and in practice acknowledges Him as supreme and ever present. It emphasizes the First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Mrs. Eddy avers on page 483 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that "if any system honors God, it ought to receive aid, not opposition, from all thinking persons."
