A Prayer to Serve

Use me, Father, in Thy service,
For I would reflect Thy love,
Help me bind the brokenhearted,
Bring them comfort from above.
I would lose all mortal selfhood
In the joy of ministry,
Dwell forever in Thy presence,
Let the Christ shine forth in me.

Use me, Father, for Thy glory!
May I walk in paths of light,
Meekly serving, like the Master,
Showing forth Thy wondrous might.
I would loose the heavy burdens,
And the yoke of bondage break.
Speak through me the Word that healeth;
Bid the sufferer awake.

Use me, Father, for Thou knowest
How I long Thy call to heed,
Help the weary ones to find Thee,
And with bread of heaven feed.
Give me quietness of spirit,
So that all may feel Thy grace,
And with hearts that sing for gladness,
See Thy beauty face to face.
