In your report of a recent sermon, the clergyman made reference to Christian Science in a way which may give false impressions to your readers.

The speaker appears to confuse Christian Science with Spiritualism; Christian Scientists do not believe in spiritualism.

It is not easy to understand why he is puzzled by the term "Christian Scientist." It is fairly evident that it is one who believes in Christian Science, or the Science of Christianity. Christian Science is the revelation of the truth about God and man, the truth that Jesus said would make men free, free from sin and sickness. A Christian Scientist, then, is one who, in the words of Mrs. Eddy, "has enlisted to lessen evil, disease, and death." She adds (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 450), "Sickness to him is no less a temptation than is sin, and he heals them both by understanding God's power over them."
