I have been so wonderfully benefited through the testimonies...
I have been so wonderfully benefited through the testimonies given in the Christian Science periodicals that I wish to relate some of the blessings which have come to me, and I hope they may prove a blessing to others.
An eminent physician had been treating me for months for ulcerated stomach, tuberculosis, and a nervous breakdown, through which I had lost twenty-two pounds. Seeing no improvement in my condition, and having exhausted every resource, he advised that I leave the city for a rest and change of scene. During the time that I was seeking a place to which to go, I came across a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the first one I ever saw. I read the book for several days without understanding it in the least. One Sunday I gave up all hope, for death seemed the only way out of my suffering. On Monday I picked up Science and Health again, and was reading it audibly, when I exclaimed, "I believe that!" Immediately I was entirely free, well, and strong. It was a shock, as well as a joy, to be well.
Six weeks later I broke my glasses, which I had worn for seventeen years. I was reading without them, when it seemed as though scales fell from my eyes, and a voice seemed to cry within me, "Your eyes are healed." I called a friend on the telephone and told her I believed that my eyes were healed, but I was afraid to say too much lest I should have to take back my words. She expressed much gratitude for this healing, and by that time I knew that my eyes were healed. I have had no further use for glasses.
