Far from being even remotely connected in any way...

Far from being even remotely connected in any way with spiritualism, Christian Science is opposed to it. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy has devoted a chapter, "Christian Science versus Spiritualism," to the establishment of this fact.

Faithful and sincere study of Christian Science will reveal to our critic that it is based on the Bible. Its first religious tenet is (ibid., p. 497), "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."

Students of Christian Science, therefore, do not find that it "commences in mid-air." They are humbly grateful to find that this religion lifts them into better health, more affluent circumstances, and gives them a sense of peace which is indicative of the healing of sin and of freedom from its bondage. "By their fruits ye shall know them." Christian Scientists are proving that, as Mrs. Eddy says (ibid., p. 481), "Through spiritual sense only, man comprehends and loves Deity."
