Worcester Evening News and Times

In a recent issue of the Worcester Evening News and Times, there is a report of a lecture which was given in Malvern.

The lecturer speaks of Christian Science in a way which shows a misapprehension of Christian Science. The Principle of Christian Science is God. Christian Science is demonstrated on the basis of perfect God and perfect man, man made in God's image.

Christian Science stands to be judged by its fruits. Christian Scientists endeavor to obey Christ Jesus' commands, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils." Great numbers have been saved from sickness and sin by this Christly method of scientific healing.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was from childhood an ardent student of the Bible, and a reverent follower of Christ Jesus.

That Christian Scientists reverence the Christ is shown by the following religious tenet (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 497): "We acknowledge and adore one supreme and infinite God. We acknowledge His Son, one Christ; the Holy Ghost or divine Comforter; and man in God's image and likeness."
