I first heard of Christian Science about fourteen years ago, through a dear sister who saw my need of the healing and regeneration that it could bring to me. At that time I took the literature she gave me, and read it to please her, but I felt it was just a bother. But "O the depth of the of glory of God that I have found since that is past putting into words! I find that the greater the understanding I gain of this Science, the easier it is for me to study and daily grasp the blessed truths it teaches, and to put into practice what I learn of it.

I have had many beautiful demonstrations of its power to heal permanently. Some cases were healed instantaneously, others needed more consecration, and sometimes the healing was gained with the help of practitioners.

A clear answer to prayer came to me about three years after I first heard of Christian Science. It was a few days before Christmas, and my husband was ill with what seemed to be pneumonia. The weather was bitterly cold, and I and four young children were on the farm taking care of the stock. The evening I mention, my husband seemed much worse, and I felt desperate. I wanted to stay with Christian Science, but my husband was not interested in it at that time, and I knew very little about it. The thought came to me that I had no right to take the responsibility on myself of holding to Science for him while he was unable to decide for himself.
