"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing...

"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." Four years ago, while on vacation, I attended a Christian Science service where these words were part of the solo. I was in great need of peace, and pondering them I realized that our Leader explains this law in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1), where she defines Christian Science as "the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." I resolved to have more love for this law.

At the end of my vacation I started my drive home, holding to these words from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 454): "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." That afternoon my light coupe was struck by a heavy sedan, driven at high speed, and I was thrown onto the pavement. I had no sense of the impact. Many months before, at a Wednesday evening meeting, I had been impressed with a certain statement in the testimony of a healing of one who had been unconscious, and now I came to consciousness declaring that statement: "God is my Life, and nothing can separate me from God, who is my Life." It seems that those who witnessed the accident believed me to be lifeless.

While I was being taken to the next town my thoughts turned to the law of good, and a great sense of the promised peace enfolded me. When a practitioner was called over long distance, the first words of assurance given me were, "Nothing has ever touched your experience but good."
